We spent the afternoon in Pasadena at the Kidspace Children's Museum with a group of families in the LA area that have adopted children from Vietnam. FCVLA is a group for members of the Los Angeles chapter of the national organization Families with Children from Vietnam. Today was the first time we joined in the fun.
We met very nice families with adorable children. We'll likely all get together again sometime this summer. The Vietnamese Culture group from UCLA participates, too. Here are a few scenes from today:

Henry had a blast trying to understand how the water spout works.

Long day, long bath!

Sixteen
Our big guy is sixteen months old today...it's hard to believe. Four short months ago we met him and began this exciting journey. Henry started his day by visiting his doctor for a check up and a few more vaccinations. He's now 33" long (90th percentile) and 22 pounds (10th percentile). His weight is low, but he still has that baby belly and those adorable chubby thighs.
We've noticed a few new things about Henry:
After I've buckled him into his car seat and taken my seat in front, he points at my seat belt and tries to tell me to buckle up myself. I suppose he figures if he has to be strapped in, I should be, too.
Henry giggles a lot more, especially when he sees that things are going his way.
He can blow...air actually comes out of his mouth!
He has a total of ten teeth...two new upper molars, one on each side. Two more are just about in.
He has started turning over onto his belly in the bathtub and has tried to float on his back a few times.
Henry has GREAT dancing skills...very good rhythm.
He does very well eating with a fork and spoon. He gets more food in his mouth now instead of on the floor or himself.
Most of his words still sound the same, but he understands about 90% of what we say to him. The other morning he was only wearing one of his slippers. I told him to go find his other slipper. He got up off my lap and walked to his bedroom to look.
Henry will now stay in his room and play alone for at least ten minutes before he comes looking for us.
He is a leader and has started playing with other kids. (vs. parallel play)
His three favorite books are now Goodnight Moon, Brown Bear, and The Night, Night Prayer.
Before he goes to bed he points at just about everything. One of these days he'll say the word instead of listen to us say "good night, ... "

Easter Weekend
The weather was beautiful this past weekend.
On Saturday, Henry and Mark washed Henry's future car while I went out shopping.
Sunday after church, we went to the Hill's house for brunch and an egg hunt.
Henry did well, especially with Emma's help!
Henry felt the need to take his high chair tray along for part of the hunt.
Later, Paul and Jan came over for dinner.
Henry has another new tooth!
