Happy Birthday, Mark!

Henry was very proud of the card he created for Mark. It even involved stickers! Henry seems to have overcome his dislike for them.

Henry ate both Oreos that were on the cake...needless to say, Henry became very energized! We all had a very nice evening together!

LOVE his pajamas! Thanks again, Dave and Margaret!
He must have known we'd be tired today.
If only I could teach him to actually brew the coffee and bring it to me in bed each morning.

22 Months

No matter where we go someone always tells us how cute or handsome you are. I always tell them "inside AND out"...that your personality is equally beautiful!
You like to eat your food off of your dinosaur plate, discovering its eyes, nose and horns as you go.
Every night we read multiple books in our bed before you want to go into your crib. After you are in your crib you point to the rocking chair and tell us to "rock" for awhile. When we leave the room you blow kisses, say (see you) "later" and you sometimes say "love you".
Deciding to use the potty chair or get another diaper after a change is still a decision you make every day. There have only been a few days since you started using the potty that you chose the diaper instead. You've gotten very good at saying M (&M).
You insist on having a pillow in your crib, but almost every night when we go in to check on you, you are turned around and have your feet elevated instead of your head.
Your favorite food is fruit, especially berries.
You love to help set the dinner table, taking each utensil and cup one at a time and delivering it to the different place settings all the while assigning them to mama, dada or Henry.
Before we eat dinner, you say "pray" and you reach out your hands so we all hold hands while we say a prayer.
Splashing is big these days!
There are many days when you load up a bunch of your toys into the car to take with us as we run our errands.
You LOVE to wash your hands in the sink with soap and water.
You like to name the different colors when you see them. There are days when everything is "red" and others when everything is "orange", but there are some days when you label everything with its correct color, too.
You know your name begins with an "H" and that "u" is for umbrella.

Everyday we laugh, and laugh, and laugh...it is so much fun to be with you!
You are the light of our lives! We LOVE you, Henry!

Happy 22 Months, Henry!

A Rainy Day

We got to put on the rain gear today. When Henry first saw me wearing my yellow raincoat he couldn't stop staring and smiling. When he saw that he had a raincoat of his own, he flashed one of his biggest smiles.

Pumpkins

Yesterday we heading to an area called Oak Glen to find Henry a pumpkin and experience a little bit of fall. We were successful, but I have to say that California pumpkin/apple farms are not quite the same as the ones in Wisconsin. Out here it's a lot more touristy and crowded. Plus it was fairly warm in the sunshine, of course. We didn't get to experience that crisp air and hot chocolate.
Henry seemed to enjoy walking around and looking at the pumpkins...a very nice day.

no cavities!

(Not that we thought he had any to begin with.)
Henry just had a very successful and positive first visit to the dentist. We thought it would be a good idea to take him in now, when he didn't need any dental work. I took some shots with my iPhone so they are a little fuzzy.
He sat in the chair, sucked water out of a cup with the suction tool, felt the piece that cleans teeth tickle his fingers, and he let the dentist count his teeth, all 16 of them. His favorite part of the visit was having water squirted into his mouth.

After the appointment, we came home and had lunch. While I was lifting Henry out of his high chair he said "brush" so we got out his new toothbrush. The dentist gave us a sand timer to watch to make sure he brushes long enough. Once it ran out, we were done.

Packers

Not the best game to watch, but Henry sure enjoyed himself!

Move over, Favre!

Our little Henry is becoming quite the football fan...and player! We go to the games at Chadwick, and he laughs when the plays are made. He likes to walk up and down the sidelines, pushing his stroller, saying "bot bot" (football).
Carolyn, who used to babysit Henry last year, gave him this new football. We took it out for a spin this morning.
Like I said...look out, Brett!

Tomorrow night Henry gets to watch his first big Monday night Packer Game!
He is pumped!
