A few years ago, my friend Jann and I started a book club. This club is not your traditional type of book club...we like call it the "bookie club".
Each month the person hosting chooses the book and provides the food and drinks. The range of time we spend talking about the book usually varies between 5 and 15 minutes...the rest of the time we eat and play poker...hence, the word "bookie". When we play poker, we all put $5 in the pot, but none of us take any winnings home at the end of the night. All the money for the year is saved, until the end of the year. The first year we spent it when we went out for dinner at Christmas time, last year we donated the money to breast cancer research, and this year the girls decided to give it to Henry's orphanage toward the purchase and installation of those solar panel so the kids can have hot water! We sent them a total of $200.
Thanks to all the "Bookies" for their generosity!!!!

That is so nice!! It didn't even occur to me that the kids wouldn't have hot water. It's amazing what we take for granted here. What a difference your gift will make in so many children's lives.
