tantrums

We've entered into the major tantrum phase of Henry's life. Before each nap and at bedtime, Henry is happy until we leave the room. He runs from his bed to the door, which is still gated, and starts yelling, stomping his feet, and hitting the gate, sometimes pulling it out of the door. (He is SO strong!)
The amount of time he is mad seems to be decreasing, but even so, it's tough! He will fall asleep on the floor next to the door when he finally concedes that we are not going to do what he wants us to do.
Last night he was adorable...he did his usual but then for some reason decided to put the blanket over his head...like he was a ghost. As I would check in with him he would wimper, but I couldn't see his face. A little later he was asking for water so I brought him a cup. He saw it and said "no hanks" but did eventually drink the water. We'll see how it goes tonight.

Despite these tantrums, Henry has been very polite these days. He says "scuse me", "tank you", and "no hanks"...it's so sweet!
