Well here we are on day 56 since we saw that sweet face for the first time. I've been talking with some other families that are waiting to bring home their kids from the same orphanage, and others who are using the same agency as us, but have their kids in a different orphanage. It's all very interesting. Some have been waiting to file their I600 (which is what we are waiting to do) since the beginning of June. Another family is on the exact same timeline as we are and there is another family that was matched the second week in July! We are all waiting to hear if we received the "official" referral and to file.
There are some people that are waiting to bring home their kids from another orphanage. One woman received notice that she got her approval last week and was all set to fly over when she learned that the government is putting a hold on finishing adoptions from this province until they can further investigate. To be that close must be killing her!
There is another woman, who is waiting to bring home her child from our same orphanage who just learned that the baby, the caretaker, and the birthmother traveled together to Hanoi to be DNA tested the other day. She should find out the results next week. I had no idea that the baby and his birthmother will travel together to have this test. It must be very hard for that birthmother.
The governement is still very cautious about making sure that the babies that are in the orphanages are true orphans. Today there was an article in the USA today that talks more about his. You can read it HERE if interested.
So we continue to wait, wonder, and pray that this all works out in the end.
