We are here! Mark and I made it to our hotel at around 11:30 AM. It's been a long day...a little over 20 hours of travel time. Both plane rides were fine except for a series of moderate bumps we went through about half way over the Pacific Ocean. You know, those bumps when the tell the flight attendants to sit down. Other than that, everything has been seamless. We had a few hours in Hong Kong before hopping onto our Dragon Air flight to Hanoi. Customs was a piece of cake. We had to wait in line no more than five minutes. Our luggage was there right away and when we got outside we saw a very nice man holding a card with our name on it. The ride to the hotel took about 30 minutes...it was insane. Cars, trucks, and scooters were all over the roads honking their horn and coming within inches of each other. I'm glad we weren't driving. We actually saw a man on a scooter with a washing machine tied on the back.
We are staying at the Sommerset Grand Hotel. We're in a two bedroom, two bathroom suite with a kitchen and a washer/dryer. Minutes after we arrived someone brought up a crib for Henry. We connected with the other families that are here waiting to pick up their kids. After some lunch and a short nap, I opened our email and saw that we received our official US approval email! The timing couldn't have been more perfect. A bit later we met with our agency representatives, Martin and Kenny. They believe that our G&R will be on Wednesday, the 17th, and that it will then take one more week before we can head back to the states. This puts us leaving Hanoi on the 24th.
It's time for bed.
